The map of tiny perfect things
Missing Mom: Mark's mother isn't dead, nor has she left, but the loop occurs on a day she left extra early for work, and she apparently pulls an all nighter, resulting in Mark more or less never seeing her during his time in the loop.It only sank in when he saw there were no more new episodes of Doctor Who. Late to the Realization: Mark claims it took him a while to realize he was in a time loop.He starts off thinking that he's the center of the time loop, but after learning about Margaret's mother is dying of cancer, he realizes that the events are actually revolving around Margaret. In Medias Res: Mark has been in the loop for an unclear amount of time, and we never see when he realized it.Since it happens in a time loop he's able to try them consecutively day after day as his hair goes back to normal after each reset. Improbable Hairstyle Sequence: After meeting Margaret, Mark spends a couple of loops at the hairdressers trying out a series of wild hairstyles (an Elvis hairdo, a Travis Bickle-esque mohawk and just shaving his entire head bald).Justified due to having an endless amount of time to practice. Improbable Aiming Skills: Whenever we see Mark throw something it's always with perfect accuracy, like when he throws a water bottle to stop a door from closing.
The rain as Margaret and Mark leave the hospital signals that the loop is broken, and happens on the day that they both declare their feelings for each other and kiss.
Seeing that she's in a time loop, she doesn't have to worry about killing herself or anyone else. Drives Like Crazy: Margaret shows little concern for the rules of the road.Deadpan Snarker: Both Mark and Margaret are fairly witty.
